2 held for prostitution racket

On October 31, Gangapur police busted a prostitution centre in the ST Colony area of the city from where nine women from Bangladesh, Kolkata and Maharashtra were rescued. He further added that the police busted the racket within a fortnight.While two victims are from Navi Mumbai, one is from Panchavati area of the city. When the decoy customer responded in the affirmative, police conducted a raid in the flat where they found the three women. Both the suspects are from Nashik Police said that they were keeping a strict vigil on such illegal businesses that were operating in the city. NASHIK: The rural police arrested two people, including a woman, in the Gangapur Road area of the city for their alleged connection in forcing three women into prostitution.On getting a tip-off about the prostitution racket that was being run in an apartment in the Old Gangapur Naka area of the city, Sarkarwada police sent a decoy customer to verify the information.

The victims, all around 20-years-old, were rescued and moved to the government woemn’s hostel in the Ashok Stambh area.Senior police inspector of Sarkarwada police station Ashok Bhagat said that the suspects had taken the third-floor flat on rent on January 22 and kept all the three women there. He further added that the police busted the racket within a fortnight.While two victims are from Navi Mumbai, one is from Panchavati area of the city. The suspects had kept some sarees in the flat to show that they were running a saree business.Bhagat said that the suspects have been remanded in police custody for three days for further investigation. Both the suspects are from Nashik Police said that they were keeping a strict vigil on such illegal businesses that were operating in the city.
