4 motorcyclists killed in separate accidents

Nashik: Four people — all motorcyclists — were killed in two separate accidents in on Wednesday, police said.In one of the accidents that took place in the Nashik city a 21-year-old youth died when his motorcycle was hit by a car from behind. According to Lasalgaon police, where the case in this regard has been registered, the incident occurred when one of the motorcycles was overtaking another unknown vehicle when the accident took place. Piyush and his friend Rishikesh Jondhale (25), who were riding on another vehicle were rushed to civil hospital. The motorcyclist, identified as Rakesh Prakash Chavan (21), a resident of City Garden, Indira Nagar, was hit at Sri Sri Ravishankar Road. After the accident, they were rushed to a hospital in Lasalgaon, about 6 km from the incident spot.

Rakesh is survived by parents and a younger sister.As per eyewitnesses’ account, the impact was such that the two-wheeler broke into two, and the youth was thrown several meters away from the accident spot. The driver of multi-utility vehicle lost control over his car after hitting the motorcycle and hit two other cars before ramming a road divider, injuring two others who were with him in the car.Mumbai Naka police rushed to the spot and took the victims to the hospitals. The driver Yogesh Bhagure has been arrestedIn another accident, three motorcycle-borne people were killed and one received injuries following a head-on collision with another two-wheeler in Yeola taluka. Another accident took place in the city in which a motorcyclist lost his life when his vehicle was hit by a car from behind on Wednesday.The mishap between two motorcycles occurred on Lasalgaon-Yeola road in the Ambegaon area. The three deceased included a couple from Soygaon village in Malegaon taluka and a 20-year-old youth from Yeola.The deceased were identified as Chintaman Gangurde (55), his wife Sunanda Gangurde (50), residents of Malegaon taluka and Piyush Vare from Patoda, Yeola. According to Lasalgaon police, where the case in this regard has been registered, the incident occurred when one of the motorcycles was overtaking another unknown vehicle when the accident took place. The four people involved in the accidentGangurdes were returning home after visiting their daughter in Lasalgaon of Niphad taluka. After the accident, they were rushed to a hospital in Lasalgaon, about 6 km from the incident spot. Gangurdes died while undergoing treatment. Piyush and his friend Rishikesh Jondhale (25), who were riding on another vehicle were rushed to civil hospital. Piyush succumbed to multiple head injuries. Rishikesh has been admitted to hospital and the condition is stated to be critical.
