He was catching motorists who were breaking traffic rules such as not wearing helmets or seat belts, talking on mobile phone while driving, breaking signals.Fad spotted Karad and asked him to stop his two-wheeler. Karad questioned the traffic constable for stopping him and this sparked off an altercation between the two. Karad allegedly went on to manhandle the constable and even questioned his authority for stopping the motorist, the police said.A case under section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against Karad at the Gangapur police station.The police have warned citizens to desist from violating traffic norms and picking up a fight with the government employees or officials – be it the police or any other department. Section 353 is now a non-bailable offence.“The traffic inspections are being conducted across the city to ensure safety of the people in general and the motorists in particular.
