Man ends life as minor son gets caught for theft

On the instance of Mhaske, the Patil family had also employed his son who used to accompany his father.On Tuesday, Mhaske's son was caught by the Parbhani police when he was attempting to sell the gold biscuits. He told the police that he had stolen the biscuits from Patil's house.Police said the Patil family came to know about the theft only after they were intimated by the Parbhani police. NASHIK: A 52-year-old man committed suicide after his minor son allegedly committed a burglary at the same place where he worked as a domestic help.The deceased has been identified as Shripad Mhaske, resident of Kamatwade in Ambad.Mhaske consumed some poisonous substance sometime before 4.30pm on Wednesday at Bhagur bus stand, in the jurisdiction of the Deolali Camp police station. The suspect had allegedly used the keys to stole the biscuits and kept the keys back in its place on January 13.On learning that his son had committed burglary at the place where they worked as domestic help and he was also detained by the police, Mhaske took the extreme step on Wednesday afternoon. After he was found lying at the bus stand, some people used his cellphone and called his son-in-law Anil Hatangle, who rushed to Bhagur and shifted Mhaske to the Deolali Cantonment Board hospital where he was declared brought dead.On the same day, Ninad Patil, husband of corporator Hemlata Patil, who is also the regional spokesperson of the Congress party, lodged a complaint with the Sarkarwada police that Mhaske's son had committee burglary in his house and had stolen five gold biscuits worth Rs 15 lakh and Rs 10 lakh in cash.Police said Mhaske worked as a domestic help in the bungalow of Patil.
