Two kids die in mishap at Yawal another in Nashik

Both were 14-year-old and died on the spot.According to police, the autorickshaw was carrying school students from Adagaon-Kasarkhed to Chincholi High School when it collided with the tractor. The victims were tossed out of the rickshaw in the collision which led to their death. The driver of the tractor escaped from the scene leaving his vehicle behind.Meanwhile, the death of the students left the residents of Adgaon and Kasarkhed fuming after which the tractor was set ablaze.By the time police reached the spot, the villagers started pelting stones on them. They also ransacked the Manudevi police post. No police personal was injured in the stone pelting though.After senior officers of Jalgaon police, including inspector DK Pardeshi of Yawal police station, reached the spot and assured strict action against tractor driver, the residents stopped their protest.“We have lodged offences against the tractor driver as well as the autorickshaw driver for causing death by negligence. The tractor driver escaped from the scene but has been identified and will soon be arrested,” Pardeshi said.Apart from the death of the two students no injury was reported. The road where the accident took place is a single road and is not an accident prone spot.Rash driving led to yet another death on city roads when a pedestrian was knocked down late on Tuesday night at Panchavati. The victim is identified as Ramdas Bhaleraon (47), a resident of Savitribai Phule residential area at Nilgari Baug on Aurangabad Road.The Panchavati police arrested Suraj Sonawane of Dnyaneshwar Society at Konark Nagar in Adgaon Shivar for Bhalerao’s death. He has been booked under Sections 304 (A) (causing death by negligence), 279 (rash driving) and other sections of the IPC and the Motor Vehicle Act.Haridas Bhalerao, brother of the victim, lodged a complaint with police stating that his brother was walking from the service road along the Mumbai-Agra highway from Adgaon Naka to Aurangabad Naka, when the biker riding from Santosh T-point to Adgaon Naka, knocked him from behind.Bhalerao suffered serious head injuries and succumbed to the same.Senior officials of the city traffic branch said this year there have been 22 deaths of bikers and four deaths of four-wheeler drivers. A couple of pedestrians have also been killed in road accidents. Rash driving continues to be the most important cause of accidents, they pointed out.Police are taking up awareness programmes in the city to appeal motorists about following road safety rules so that they do not risk their lives and the lives of others.
