350 matters resolved on grievance redressal day

Nashik: As many as 350 complaints were resolved by Nashik city police at its Grievance Redressal Day on Saturday. Police managed also to resolve five non-cognizable offences.City police had earlier appealed to people to take the benefit of the Grievance Redressal Day organised by them every Saturday. The Grievance Redressal Day has been organised for a few years now, and more and more people are now being able to take advantage of it.People are also free to visit the police station of their jurisdiction in the morning hours on Saturdays. At Gangapur five matters found a solution on Saturday, while eight problems found a solution at Adgaon. While some of these problems may well be resolved by ignoring them, police say that some of the petty matters, ignored, could grow into serious offences.

Nashik: As many as 350 complaints were resolved by Nashik city police at its Grievance Redressal Day on Saturday. Senior officers of the rank of DCP, ACP, and senior inspectors were present at all 13 police stations to listen to problems citizens brought before them.Police said 76 grievances were resolved at Bhadrakali, at Sarkarwada, 13 problems were resolved and at Panchavati 15. At Gangapur five matters found a solution on Saturday, while eight problems found a solution at Adgaon. At Mhasrool 17 grievances were set to rest, at Mumbai Naka 27, and 15 at Ambad. Six matters were resolved at Satpur, seven in Indiranagar and 40 at Nashik Road, with 96 grievances addressed at Upnagar and 32 at Deolali Camp police station. Police managed also to resolve five non-cognizable offences.City police had earlier appealed to people to take the benefit of the Grievance Redressal Day organised by them every Saturday. Police officers meet people arriving with problems or fears and police attempts to find a solution. The Grievance Redressal Day has been organised for a few years now, and more and more people are now being able to take advantage of it.People are also free to visit the police station of their jurisdiction in the morning hours on Saturdays. A large number of people face problems from mischief mongers or eve-teasers, sometimes even neighbours or members of one’s own family, that might irritate them but might not warrant a police complaint. While some of these problems may well be resolved by ignoring them, police say that some of the petty matters, ignored, could grow into serious offences. The aim of the grievance redressal day is to get people to trust police with matters that might be causing worry, and also to aid the law and order maintenance machinery to take proactive action in case of niggling troubles that could grow into more serious law and order problems.Police officers said as awareness spreads, more and more people are approaching them with concerns.
