Man threatened with toy gun, robbed of Rs 3 lakh

NASHIK: Three unidentified motorcycle-borne robbers attacked a trader in Saharanpur Road area of the city and decamped with Rs 3 lakh on Saturday night. Shah who was perplexed upon seeing them and immediately took to staircase to escape. A forensic team was deployed, they found no mark of any bullet at the incident spot.”Initiating action, police have formed separate teams to trace the three suspects. The suspects started chasing him.

NASHIK: Three unidentified motorcycle-borne robbers attacked a trader in Saharanpur Road area of the city and decamped with Rs 3 lakh on Saturday night. The victim was threatened by the suspects using a toy gun.The 38-year-old trader, Virag Shah, a resident of Kulkarni Colony, runs a business of medical equipment. He has filed a complaint in this regard with Sarkarwada police.On Saturday, carrying a cash-filled bag, Shah was returning home from work when came under the assault.Police said, Shah was walking towards his house with a bag that contained Rs 3 lakh in cash, Three bike-borne criminals accosted him in the parking lot of his apartment.According to Shah, one of the suspects pointed an airgun towards him and made a huge sound from the toy weapon. Shah who was perplexed upon seeing them and immediately took to staircase to escape. The suspects started chasing him. While running on the stairs, when he fell down they snatched his bag.In the meanwhile, upon hearing the sound, a watchman from neighbouring bungalow rushed to the spot, but the suspets threatened him with the airgun and fled.Soon after reaching home, Shah called police. Upon receiving information senior police officials including DCP Laxmikant Patil, ACP Ashok Nakhate, senior PI of the Sarkarwada police station Sanjay Sangle rushed to the spot.Police said, “Criminals used the airgun to threaten the trader. A forensic team was deployed, they found no mark of any bullet at the incident spot.”Initiating action, police have formed separate teams to trace the three suspects. History-sheeters are also being interrogated get leads. Police said that they were also checking the footage of the CCTV cameras around the Sharanpur Road area.Pertinently, in January this year, a trader Avinash Mahadev Shinde, who owned a super market in the Indiranagar area was stabbed to death by robbers when he resisted bid to snatch his bag containing Rs 6 lakh.
