Foundation stone laid for Pune varsity sub-centre in Nashik

Nashik, Jun 17 (PTI): The foundation stone of the proposed building of Savitribai Phule Pune University sub-centre in Nashik was laid on Friday with Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray attending the event virtually. The sub-centre, which is coming up at Shivnai in Dindori taluka here, will benefit around 1.5 lakh students, the CM said, adding that the aim was to create more such facilities so that the education sector is strengthened. Development of education will develop the nation, Union Minister of State for Health Bharti Pawar said in her address, while guardian minister Chhagan Bhujbal informed that the district planning committee will provide Rs 5 crore for the empowerment of the sub-centre. State higher and technical education minister Uday Samant said Maharashtra managed to provide online education efficiently during the COVID-19 pandemic and was now geared to bring back normalcy, including holding offline exams.
