Nashik: A 36-year-old man was cheated of Rs 1.6 lakh by a cyber criminal on the pretext of investing in the business of selling surgical equipment online and getting hefty commission.An officer from the Ambad police station where a case has been registered said the complainant got a call in the month of June from the conman who offered to give good returns if the man invests in the business of selling the surgical goods online.The complainant is already in the medical field and was looking for alternate source of income. While he was looking for opportunities, he received the call from the suspect. The victim paid a total of Rs11 lakh to the accused, but nothing changed. Suspicious, the victim lodged a complaint with the police. The accused has been arrested.
