Police hands over two-and- a-half acres of land to court

NASHIK: The Nashik police recently handed over two-and- a-half acres of land to the District and Sessions Court .The process of handing over the land was underway over the past few months. It is the most convenient place for the people.Hence, the members of the Nashik Bar Association had insisted on providing the police commissionerate's land for expansion of the court premises. A PIL in this regard was filed by advocate Kaka Ghuge four years ago making the Nashik Bar Association one of the petitioners in the case. The court is located adjacent to the collector's office and close to the Central Bus Stand. Through the PIL, the lawyer had requested that the proposed landwith the police department located on backside of the court premises be given to the court.The lawyers had stressed the need for the convenience of people.

It is the most convenient place for the people.Hence, the members of the Nashik Bar Association had insisted on providing the police commissionerate's land for expansion of the court premises. The Bar association had also submitted astructural map as per the directions of the court.Members of the Nashik Bar Association said that with the additional two and half acres of land, they the proposal is to keep the main court building, the new extension building constructed about 10 years back and the Maruti chambers and raze the remaining structures and construct new buildings.The additional space will solve the problem of space faced by people coming to the court, mainly pertaining to parking their vehicles as with the exception of the lawyers and the court staff, other people are not authorized to park their vehicles in the court premises
