4 held for hacking water park’s website

Noida: Four persons were arrested on Thursday for allegedly hacking the website of Worlds of Wonder amusement and water park and booking free tickets by jumping the payment gateway option and selling those tickets to people at cheap rates.The accused Deepak Kumar, Aman Kumar, Abhay and Vikas Kumar, all residents of Delhi, have been involved in the racket for two years. Deepak is an engineering student at a private college.Anil Kumar Shahi, SHO of Sector 39 police station, said the management of Worlds of Wonder informed police when they found discrepancy in the total number of tickets sold and money generated. They have filed a complaint against unknown persons.The police deployed a team around the park on Thursday. The four suspects arrived at the spot and started telling people they had booked the e-tickets but had to sell them off urgently. The officers immediately apprehended the accused.A ticket for a weekday priced at Rs 1,098 and weekend priced at Rs 1,299 were sold for anything between Rs 500-1,000.Police said Deepak is the mastermind of the gang. He had accessed software to hack the website and book tickets for free. The accused used to get messages on their mobile phones. They then got tickets from the counter after showing those messages.The police recovered five e-tickets, four mobile phones and Rs 3,200 from their possession. “We will seek Deepak’s police remand for further interrogation. We suspect the accused would have hacked other websites for booking movie tickets too,” Shahi said.
