NOIDA: A 35-year-old woman alleged on Tuesday that she was gang-raped by her husband and four other relatives in Jarcha village in Dadri on July 7. The woman also said the accused threatened her for consequence if she disclosed the matter to anyone.The woman told police she got married in 2004 and started living in a rented accommodation with her husband. Eight years after their wedding, her husband, who worked in a private factory in Greater Noida , started drinking excessively. “He used to leave the house in morning for work and return drunk at night. He used to thrash me for no reason,” said the woman.The couple stayed together till 2014 but they do not have any child. Later that year, the woman shifted to her sister’s home in neighbourhood.However, her husband continued visiting her.The woman alleged that on July 7, her husband and four of his friends visited her house and took turns in raping her. “On the night of July 7, my husband and four relatives visited my house and took turns to rape me. One of them had a country-made gun and he threatened me with dire consequences if I reported the case to police,” the woman said in her complaint.The woman said she had first visited Jarcha police station to file a case but no action was taken. Only after she met Gautam Budh Nagar SSP, an FIR was registered in the matter.Nishank Sharma, circle officer, Dadri, said a case of gangrape has been registered against the accused. “We are investigating the matter from all angles. Preliminary investigation has shown the woman had differences with her husband over some domestic issues,” he said.The woman was sent for a medical examination and the reports are awaited.
