Noida building collapse: 13 ‘builders’ booked for unauthorised structures

NOIDA: Two days after the two buildings collapsed in Shahberi village, 13 persons who allegedly built illegal buildings were booked in Noida for unauthorised constructions of multi-storey buildings on Thursday. The cases have been registered against Ashok Kesri, Sunil Awana, Gyanendra Kumar, Jitendra Awana, Veer Singh Awana, Chaudhury Sitaram, Hridaya Singh, Vinay Kumar, Begram, Firee Awana, Ram Chandra, and Kiranpal. The FIR was registered after Noida Authority engineer filed complaints in Sector 20 and Sector 24 police stations.Rajeev Tyagi, general manager, Noida Authority, said a team conducted inspections of illegal structures in Atta Village, Nithari Village and Morna village. “They were developing multi-storey residential and commercial buildings without approval of project layouts,” Tyagi said. Officials said they will seize the properties after an investigation.
