A note , purportedly written by the husband, mentioned domestic discord for the couple’s relationship turning sour.A resident of Indirapuram, Girish Bhatnagar (47) had married Manisha Kohli of Delhi’s Mahendrapuri after meeting her on a matrimonial website in 2016. Girish, who ran a clothing business, moved into a flat in Galaxy Wega Society a year later with his wife.On Monday, Manisha lay on the floor, oozing blood, while Girish was found hanging from the ceiling fan of the bedroom. The purported suicide note mentioned that Manisha hadn’t informed Girish about her first marriage and often fought with him over his sister, who stayed in the same flat for some time.“We never got along. She was interested more in my property and money. She wanted me to transfer the house in her name. She even accused me of having a relationship with my sister. She would threaten me that she would drag me to court for the property that did not even belong to her in the first place,” said the note, which lay on the floor of the room where Girish was found hanging.Police said they were informed about the couple by Manisha’s brother, who called up the cops after multiple phone calls to his sister went unanswered in the morning.Police broke open the door of the 18th-floor flat and found the couple dead. Officers said prima facie it appeared that Manisha had been hit on the head with a blunt object, possibly a kitchen stone, which caused her death. The bodies have been sent for autopsies.Police said ties between the couple had recently turned testy because Manisha had apparently not disclosed her first marriage to Girish. He was apparently disappointed because the couple often fought over his sister, who had been staying with them.Akhilesh Tripathi, the station house officer of Bisrakh police station, said the cops had learnt that Manish often made derogatory remarks about her husband and his sister. The daily arguments apparently prompted Girish’s sister to leave the flat some 15 days ago. “No complaint has been filed against anyone from the family. The bodies were sent for autopsies,” Tripathi added.
