Teachers urge DM to stop parents’ protest

NOIDA: A delegation of 47 teachers of a Greater Noida school, where a nursery student was allegedly raped, met the district magistrate on Wednesday and sought his intervention to thwart a protest by parents on September 10 against apparent lack of safety measures at the institution.The teachers submitted a two-page written appeal, saying it was “exam time” and any protest outside the gates would create a law and order situation and disrupt “academic environment”. The teachers submitted a list of 115 signatures to the DM. The principal and a teacher of the school have been booked under provisions of the Pocso Act.After the meeting, district magistrate BN Singh said school gates should not be converted into “a venue for voicing grouse against the management”.
