“We had closed only single route on Thursday and it has worked well,” Jha said.The diversion at the same roundabout in the morning is also continuing and the force feels that the response is good. “We will later install jersey-barriers at this stretch of the roundabout,” he said.Earlier, the force had installed temporary barriers at two parts of the roundabout. NOIDA: The traffic police has decided to close only one route at the Kisan Chowk roundabout from Friday as part of its diversion plan.TOI had reported on Wednesday that the diversion at Kisan Chowk had led to snarls on the Parthala-Kisan Chowk route as traffic volume had increased on the route due to commuters from Parthala and NH-24 getting merged at the roundabout.Traffic police had to face many angry commuters during the peak evening hours on Tuesday forcing them to remove the diversion around 7 pm.The police have now decided to effect diversion only on the Surajpur-Ghaziabad side now realizing that it was the route with the lowest concentration of the commuters travelling in the evening as compared to the Surajpur-Parthala, Bisrakh-Parthala and the Bisrakh-NH-24 routes.SP (traffic) Anil Jha told TOI that a temporary barrier will remain in place on the Surajpur-Ghaziabad side from 5-10 pm from Friday onwards everyday.
