2 in police uniform rob businessmen of Rs 1 lakh, car near Dadri toll

So they first went to the toll plaza and collected the footage from the CCTV cameras installed on the expressway. GREATER NOIDA: Two businessmen from Haryana filed a complaint on Sunday alleging that four persons had allegedly robbed them of their Hyundai car, mobile phones and Rs 1.5 lakh at gunpoint on August 23. After almost an hour, the men pushed out the complainants near Aurangabad.Ravindra told TOI that the two policemen robbed Rs 1.5 lakh in cash that was kept in the car and even took their mobile phones and the car. On Sunday, they reported the matter at Dadri police station.The police have, however, identified the men in uniform as officials from the excise department.“Police are investigating the matter on the basis of the footage.

According to police, Ravindra, an original resident of Bahadurgarh in Haryana, and Harendra, a resident of Kishangarh in Bulandshahr, were travelling from Haryana to Bulandshahr in Ravindra’s Hyundai i20 car on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway on August 23.Around 8pm, when they reached the Dadri toll plaza, they were stopped by four men out of whom two were in police uniform . The businessmen alleged that the four persons held them hostage and got into the vehicle.One of them drove the vehicle towards Bulandshahr with another robber while two other men followed them in another vehicle. After almost an hour, the men pushed out the complainants near Aurangabad.Ravindra told TOI that the two policemen robbed Rs 1.5 lakh in cash that was kept in the car and even took their mobile phones and the car. “We later reached Bulandshahr police station but the police told us that the complaint has to be registered at the police station where the robbery took place place,” he said.The victim said they were threatened against approaching the police by the two men who were in police uniform. So they first went to the toll plaza and collected the footage from the CCTV cameras installed on the expressway. On Sunday, they reported the matter at Dadri police station.The police have, however, identified the men in uniform as officials from the excise department.“Police are investigating the matter on the basis of the footage. It has been revealed that the two men in uniform are officials from the excise department and rest of the claims are being investigated,” said Ram Sen Singh, SHO, Dadri police station.Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered under Sections 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder), 394 (Voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) of the IPC.
