Two students hit with rods, sticks outside school

GREATER NOIDA: Two Class XI students from Dadri were allegedly beaten up with rods and sticks after they came out of their school on Friday. “The boys were saved by people who stopped the attackers and threatened to call the police after which they ran away. They were not found at their homes but they’ll be arrested soon,” the SHO added. The two minors are cousins and study in the same class at a private school in Chithara village.Police said, two days ago, the victims had vouched for their classmates in front of the school principal against other two students who fought with the students. We then filed a police complaint but nobody was held for investigation.

Agitated by this, the accused brought six other men and thrashed the 14-year-old boys who received critical injuries.Rahul, an elder brother of the boys, told TOI that on September 14, when their school got over around 1.30pm, they were stopped by their two schoolmates, Vishal who studies in class XI and Vikas of class VIII, and six other adults who were armed with sticks and rods.A case has been registered against all the eight people involved, however, no arrests has been made yet. “The boys were saved by people who stopped the attackers and threatened to call the police after which they ran away. We are afraid to send the kids to school again,” Rahul added.Ram Sen Singh, SHO, Dadri police station said the two accused minors and six other men have been booked under sections 147 (Punishment for rioting), 148 (Rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (Every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), 352 (Punishment for assault or criminal force otherwise than on grave provocation) of the IPC. “The accused are currently on the run. They were not found at their homes but they’ll be arrested soon,” the SHO added.
