Any plan needs to be arrived at only after keeping in mind the current situation of the market. The old traffic plan suggested by the Sector 18 market association included six entry/exit points from the Atta side, one entry/exit each on the Sector 17 and Film City side.“But the situation of the market has changed drastically with the construction of the multi-level parking, etc. NOIDA: Traders in the Sector 18 market have sought a change before Diwali in the routes used by vehicles to enter and exit the shopping zone. While the market association has submitted a four-year plan to regulate traffic, the traffic police is of the opinion that a new plan needs to be drawn keeping in mind the multi-level parking. At the moment, there are 11 entry/exit points to the sector. The committee on traffic, comprising officials from the Noida Authority, traffic police and members of two of the market associations, discussed the plans for traffic movement, a U-turn on the Sector 18 road and illegal encroachment on inner roads. The best way is to regulate the entries/exits of the market to suit the present situation,” SP (traffic) Anil Jha said on Wednesday .The Sector 18 market association has demanded that an exit from the parking be provided on the road leading to Somdutt Tower too.The other demands include a U-turn about 50 metres ahead of the China cut, removal of some unauthorised shops from the inner roads, control on the illegal parking and speedy completion of redevelopment work in the sector, before Diwali.Rajiv Tyagi, general manager (projects) at the Noida Authority, said that the redevelopment work was being carried out by four different departments and it is likely to be completed soon.
