Ghaziabad: Police were yet to arrest any of the four accused in the abduction-cum-murder of a seven-year-old girl in Ghaziabad on Monday, even as her autopsy report confirmed sexual assault.On Monday, police said investigations were underway into the role of a few persons other than the four accused named in the FIR for their possible role in the murder. The girl’s father has accused a local councillor and three of his brothers of murder. All four are absconding.A police team that conducted searches in the area, including the houses of the accused, has reportedly found a gunny sack with blood stains on it from the roof of the mosque. “The accused were in bad terms with us ever since our relative contested the polls as an Independent against the councillor’s wife in the urban local body polls of 2012,” the girl’s father said.“We are examining if the girl was assaulted sexually out of lust or if the assault was in a bid to settle political vendetta. No one has been arrested till now and four teams are investigating the case. We are also examining the role of a few persons, other than the four accused in the FIR, for the crime. A CCTV footage has been obtained but it only shows the brother of the girl walking down the alley,” said Ghaziabad SSP Vaibhav Krishna.On Monday, police added Section 376 (rape) of the IPC and relevant provisions of the POCSO Act to the FIR.
