DM panel to hear complaints against schools every month

NOIDA: The district-level committee set up to facilitate the UP Self-Financed Independent Schools (Fee Regulation) Act, 2018, will meet once every month to hear parents’ complaints against schools. The website would also put up an official email address for the parents to file complaints. We met for the first time to fine-tune the work process of the committee,” district magistrate B N Singh said.According to Singh, parents would first have to file written complaints regarding fee structure or the additional charges to the schools. The schools would have to respond to the parents within 15 days. So the rulebook will be out there for all to see.

NOIDA: The district-level committee set up to facilitate the UP Self-Financed Independent Schools (Fee Regulation) Act, 2018, will meet once every month to hear parents’ complaints against schools. The fee-regulation committee, set up under the aegis of the district administration, held its first meeting on Wednesday.The details of the committee and the written guidelines of the Act would be uploaded on the official website of the district administration. The website would also put up an official email address for the parents to file complaints. “The objective is to keep the process transparent. So the rulebook will be out there for all to see. We met for the first time to fine-tune the work process of the committee,” district magistrate B N Singh said.According to Singh, parents would first have to file written complaints regarding fee structure or the additional charges to the schools. The schools would have to respond to the parents within 15 days. Failing this, the parents would next approach the committee which would take up the complaints.The committee would hear the parents where school representatives would also be present.The Act would cover all private schools affiliated to any private board including Uttar Pradesh State Education Board, CBSE, ICSE or any school with international affiliations as well which have an annual fee structure exceeding Rs 20,000.
