School rape investigator shifted

GREATER NOIDA: After the Allahabad high court directed the Gautam Budh Nagar SSP to “personally monitor” the rape case of a three-year-old child in a Greater Noida school, the investigating officer — a female sub-inspector — has been transferred to Bisrakh police station.However, Bobesh Dhiman will continue to handle the case as of now, despite her joining Bisrakh police station on Tuesday, said Amit Srivastava, circle officer, Greater Noida. The court’s ruling came in the wake of a writ petition by her parents.Police had earlier booked the school principal and class teacher under Section 19 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act, Section 503 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and Section 75 of Juvenile Justice Act. “The officer had sought the transfer herself and the same was a routine one,” Srivsatava added.The three-year-old nursery student was allegedly raped by a school employee on the premises on July 12.TOI had reported on Sunday that the Allahabad HC directed the Gautam Budh Nagar SSP to personally monitor the case and the IO to conclude the investigation and “submit a police report before the court preferably within a period of four weeks”.
