Cops to crack down on Noidawallahs who burst crackers beyond deadline

Noida police said that this part of the order will also be followed.Moreover, the Noida authority has also earmarked 21 spots across the city where residents can gather to burst crackers. According to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Noida, the police will keep a strict vigil and tab on whether the Supreme Court’s order on permissible time of 8pm-10 pm for bursting crackers on Diwali night is being followed by Noidawallahs or not.

Anyone found bursting crackers beyond the time limit will be dealt with strictly,” said Ajay Pal, SSP, Noida. When asked whether people will get arrested if found violating the SC orders, the SSP said that it will depend on the situation and the nature of complaint. Urging residents to be Noida Police’s eyes and ears, Pal said that residents must report any violation of the apex court’s order as soon as they see it. “Though our teams will be patrolling across the city day and night, we cannot be at every corner of the city and hence urge residents to report violations as soon as possible. Such reports will be dealt with strictly and our PCR teams will reach the spot immediately,” said Pal.The Supreme Court order also states the use of only ‘green crackers’ during Diwali. Noida police said that this part of the order will also be followed.Moreover, the Noida authority has also earmarked 21 spots across the city where residents can gather to burst crackers. “The residents have been urged to burst crackers only at the spots earmarked by the Authority in accordance to the Supreme Court order,” said BN Singh, District Magistrate, Noida.When asked whether any action will be taken against those who are found bursting crackers at places apart from these places, Singh chose not to comment.
