NOIDA: Four persons were booked in two separate cases of robbery in the city on Wednesday.The victims in both the cases, two women and a businessman , were visiting friends and relatives on the occasion of Diwali when they got robbed of valuables in a similar way.In the first case, a woman and her mother-in-law were sitting in their car around 3.30pm, waiting for the woman’s husband to return from a friend’s house, when two bike-borne assailants came up to them and pointed a gun, asking them to hand over their valuables. The incident took place in C-block of Sector 33. They were robbed of valuables worth around Rs 2 lakh.The complainant, Manoj Singh Chauhan, said, “My wife and mother were waiting for me in the car when two men on a motorcycle came and pointed a gun at my wife. They took their jewellery and wrist watches,” Chauhan said. The woman was unable to note down the bike’s registration number, he added.An FIR was registered at Sector 24 police station. “We are looking into the matter and we will arrest the accused soon,” said Pankaj Pant, SHO, Sector 24 police station.In the second incident, a resident of Sarfabad, Sector 73, Pintu Yadav, was robbed of valuables at gun-point the same day, while he was on his way home after visiting relatives in Sector 62.In his complaint, Yadav said that he had received a phone call and had slowed down his car to take it, when two bike-borne assailants intercepted the car.“They pointed a gun at me and asked me to give my valuables to them. This happened around 3.25pm. The duo took four of my rings and my gold chain which weighed nearly 100 gram,” said Yadav.Police officials said that after reaching the spot they had tried to chase the accused, but lost them in one of the inner streets. Both robberies could be the work of the same group of criminals, cops said.
