Like with STP water, it takes about a week’s time to rid itself of any smell. We have a 24x7 maintenance staff on duty including electricians, plumbers, etc,” said Sharma. Besides, residents of other sectors like 19, 11, 12 and 20 complained of inadequate water supply for the past couple of days.“In the past 10 days, we were getting untreated STP water for daily use. Also, this untreated water has damaged bathroom fittings permanently including geysers etc. It may also create health issues,” said Pandey.Nearly 400 families are currently living in the society and despite paying high maintenance charges, they complained of lack of basic facility like clean water or adequate security.

GREATER NOIDA: While Ganga water supply, which was to resume from November 8, is delayed and expected only after November 10, residents of Saviour GreenArch society in Greater Noida West have been getting untreated water for the past 10 days, including on Diwali day. Besides, residents of other sectors like 19, 11, 12 and 20 complained of inadequate water supply for the past couple of days.“In the past 10 days, we were getting untreated STP water for daily use. The water also has acute stench. We have complained to almost all authorities including the builder, but there is no solution,” said Rashmi Pandey, a resident of the society. With most maintenance staff, including the estate manager, on Diwali leave, the problem has compounded.“Their mobiles are also switched off. The maintenance department had circulated a 24X7 emergency support number, but that too has been switched off. In such a scenario, residents are helpless and now the situation is that they are unable to stay in their houses. Also, this untreated water has damaged bathroom fittings permanently including geysers etc. It may also create health issues,” said Pandey.Nearly 400 families are currently living in the society and despite paying high maintenance charges, they complained of lack of basic facility like clean water or adequate security. The residents also complained of irregular fogging despite 10-15 dengue cases reported in the past months. “With the water supply being polluted, we are even more worried now,” said Pandey, who along with other residents now plans to take up the matter with CEO, Noida Authority. When contacted, the maintenance head of GreenArch society, Arun Sharma, told TOI that they had been supplying borewell water earlier before they could activate supply from their sewage treatment plant.“We had started STP water supply since Monday. Like with STP water, it takes about a week’s time to rid itself of any smell. I deny that there is any sewage-type water supplied to the residents or that there was no essential staff available during Diwali or any day. We have a 24x7 maintenance staff on duty including electricians, plumbers, etc,” said Sharma.
