Noida: Chhath puja will be held for four days from Sunday in several sectors like 71, 93, 31, Noida Stadium in Sector 21A, Gaur City and other places in Noida. While the biggest artificial pond is being dug up at Shri Sahyog Chhat Puja Samiti in Sector 71, water for the pond will be sourced from Noida Authority.“We expect nearly 5,000 devotees daily with over 10,000 turning up on the final day of the puja. We have asked CEO Alok Tandon for facilities like electricity, sanitation and security for the duration of the puja,” said Munna Kumar Sharma of the samiti.Pravasi Mahasangh is organising its 9th Chhath puja at Noida stadium in Sector 21A where MP Mahesh Sharma, MLA Pankaj Singh, DM BN Singh and more are expected to join in the festivities. “While MP Mahesh Sharma will be the chief guest at the festival, BJP Delhi state president Manoj Tiwari will preside over the festivities,” said Alok Vats, president, Pravasi Mahasangh.The Shri Chhath Puja Samiti at Gate No. 2 of Express View Apartment in Sector 93 will hold its puja in an artificial pond this year.In Sector 31, RWA president Sunil Sethi told TOI that an artificial pond of 18 ft in length and 10 ft wide will be dug up on Sunday at Shaheed Bharat Singh Park for the puja.The festival will be celebrated in artificial ponds in sectors 66, 62, 82, 110, 12, 19, 20, 45, 55 as well as in villages Chhajarsi, Chotpur, Mamura, Hoshiarpur, Morna, Chalera, Sadarpur, Bhangel etc. along with Hindon and Yamuna banks as well.
