GREATER NOIDA: Two men were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly raping a 28-year-old woman while she was returning home from a market close to IIMT College in Knowledge Park on Monday evening. According to the police , the accused have been identified as Mukesh Sharma(38) and Sarda (35). Both are original residents of Bihar but live in Tugalpur village in Greater Noida The woman is a resident of Knowledge Park area and she lives with her husband who is a driver. On Monday, around 8.30pm, when she was returning home from the market the two men allegedly grabbed her from behind and gagged her with a piece of cloth.They took her to a secluded plot where both of them raped her and then fled leaving her unconscious. The survivor told TOI that she recognised the accused by their faces as she had seen them in the market frequently,“I had seen them in the market often. They roam around and pass lewd comments at women walking around,” the woman said in her police complaint.Arvind Pathak, station house officer at Knowledge Park police station said that a case was filed against the accused on Tuesday under Section 376 D (gang rape ) of the Indian Penal Code “The accused were arrested during a raid in the Tugalpur area. They were trying to flee the city,” Pathak added.
