Noida covers open dhalaos

NOIDA: The Noida Authority took to covering open dhalaos (open spans of garbage stretch) in the city by tin cover and green overhead sheet on Tuesday in areas such as sector 26, 27, 31, 55, 62 and more. This is an effort towards keeping Noida clean and litter free,” said OSD Rajesh Kumar Singh.S K Gupta deputy general manager public health department told TOI that about 15-20 such dhalaos in Noida will be covered in next couple of days. In addition to this all festival hoardings and unauthorised posters and banners on electricity poles, public places and sign boards are also being cleaned. “Some of these banner-postings were cleaned on Tuesday from sector 39 community centre to sector 31-36 road stretch, as well as from city centre metro station to elevated road near sector 26 including Jaipuria plaza to Nithari Chowk,” said Singh. While a total of 15 such dhalaos will be covered in next couple of the day, Authority claims the aim is to keep the garbage under cover till it gets picked up (daily) so as to avoid litter and stray grazing of cattle.“Following orders from CEO Noida Authority the public health department officials carried out a drive today of covering all open dhalaos (open spaces) with tin covering along with green overhead sheet where garbage is dumped till it gets picked up daily.
