Street lights not functioning? Noida to launch mobile application to help file complaints

According to officials, nearly 16,000 street lights have been changed to LED lights in the city so far. NOIDA: The Noida Authority has come up with a novel solution to fix non-functional streetlights in your neighbourhood. All one needs to do is to send a message on a mobile app and the complaint will be addressed within two days. The LED lights have been placed on MP–1, MP–2, MP–3 roads, Sector 19, Sector 20 and Sector 27. It will also be available for android and IOS phone users.The smart streetlights LED system is completely automated and it works on censor.

NOIDA: The Noida Authority has come up with a novel solution to fix non-functional streetlights in your neighbourhood. All one needs to do is to send a message on a mobile app and the complaint will be addressed within two days. The authority will also set up a control room for grievance redressal in Sector 39.R P Singh, nodal officer, LED works, Noida Authority, said the Authority had planned to replace all 74,000 street lights within a year in June.Singh said that 70% works on Noida Expressway has been completed. The LED lights have been placed on MP–1, MP–2, MP–3 roads, Sector 19, Sector 20 and Sector 27. The replacement works at Udyog Marg, Mahamaya Flyover, Sector 74, Sector 75, Sector 76 is nearing completion.The project is being implemented by Tata Projects Ltd. According to officials, nearly 16,000 street lights have been changed to LED lights in the city so far. The Authority aims to achieve 35,000 target by January and complete the entire work by July 2019.Singh said the project is expected to bring down power consumption by 56% and also beautify the city.“The Noida Authority has planned to launch a mobile app to streamline the grievance redressal system in this regard. The residents can download the app from google play store. They can share messages and photos of non-functional streetlights in their neighbourhood. The complaints will be addressed within two days and the users will be updated on the same,” he said.The mobile app will be launched in the first week of December. It will also be available for android and IOS phone users.The smart streetlights LED system is completely automated and it works on censor. There is no need to manually switch on/off the lights, said sources.
