NOIDA: The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) examined trains on the Aqua Line for speed, emergency brakes and automatic protection on the third and final day of inspection on Thursday.The CMRS, however, pointed out that the Noida Authority was yet to complete construction of approach roads, dividers, parking lots and cover manholes outside several stations. The Aqua Line is scheduled to become functional on December 25, which coincides with good governance day.The tests on the third day were conducted as the train travelled from Depot station to Sector 51 and vice-versa.NMRC executive director PD Upadhyay said the CMRS would submit a detailed report to the director (operations) of DMRC in eight days. DMRC will then send the report to NMRC. “A report will also be shared with the ministries of railways and housing and urban affairs. The metro will be ready for commissioning once the CMRS gives its go-ahead. Either the government can provided us a date for commissioning or we can ourselves invite the government to inaugurate the line. We will wait for the report,” Upadhayay said.The Noida Authority now has several constructions pending. A road under the track is yet to be complete and even the divider, the central verge between the two carriageways, parking facility and parks outside the stations are yet to be ready.
