Ghaziabad: The Ghaziabad Development Authority ( GDA ) has proposed to prepare a data of 16,000 Tulsi Niketan residents who have been asked to vacate flats that have been declared unsafe.This, the GDA hopes, will help allay the fears of residents who feel they may not be allotted new flats that the agency plans to build after razing the entire society. Almost 90% of the 16,000 residents own flats through power of attorney. But the GDA recognises ownership only through registry deeds.“We plan to build a database that will have the names and flat numbers of each owner. It will also have details like how many of them have power of attorney and how many have registries in their names,” said Kanchan Verma, vice-chairperson of the GDA. “The entire process will be video recorded and the database will also segregate tenants,” she added. “The exercise will help dispel concerns about the handing over of new flats. We will have a database to verify the actual owners in case of or doubt.”
