AVP’s suicide: Genpact in HC, wants FIR quashed

GREATER NOIDA: The Genpact management, two of its women employees and internal complaints committee members, who were booked for abetment to suicide of the company’s assistant vice-president Swaroop Raj, filed a petition in the Allahabad high court on Monday, seeking quashing of the FIR against them.Genpact had suspended 35-year-old Swaroop who was with the company for 11 years, on December 18, the same day the women employees had filed a sexual harassment complaint against him. That night, his wife Kriti found him dead in their apartment at Paramount Florraville when she returned home.In its petition, the company management claimed the decision to suspend Swaroop was taken by the internal complaints committee as per Genpact policy and the grounds were explained to Swaroop at the time he was handed over the letter of suspension.According to the petition, Swaroop was suspended to ensure that there was no hindrance to the investigation of the allegations against him.Pranav Shrivastava, Swaroop’s brother-in-law, said the date of hearing the petition has not been decided by the court yet.
