GREATER NOIDA: The Luksar jail in Greater Noida is likely to get a cow shelter , which would help, according to jail officials, help its inmates “do some constructive work and generate income”.The directive came from additional director general of police Chandra Prakash, who made a surprise visit to the jail on Friday.
In addition to this, he asked to establish a cow shelter on the campus where the inmates can be trained to do constructive work,” said Mishra.He added that the cow shelter would be started with the help of local outfits who work for stray cows and common people.
However, no date has been decided to start the construction.The Luksar jail was constructed in 2014, roughly on a land measuring 100 acres, where currently 2,800 male and 80 female inmates are housed in separate barracks.
He also gave a patient hearing to the inmates’ problems and on their daily routine.Vipin Mishra, superintendent of Luksar jail, told TOI the ADGP, talked about various things that could generate a source of income for the inmates.
“The ADGP also discussed setting up job training centres and also a production unit for inmates where they could get involved in some productive work and could also generate a source of income.
