Bawariyas behind two big bank heists held in Greater Noida

The accused have now told cops that Samay, Bijua, Suraj, Raju and Jasmat were the ones involved in Pratapgarh robbery. Bijua and Suraj belong to Aligarh but stay in Pataudi area in Gurgaon. The robbers shot dead a security guard, Sadik Ali, and took away Rs 50 lakh.The robbery was executed by a gang of five—Samay, Bijua alias Vijay Singh, his nephew Suraj alias Karua alias Rajendra, Raju and Satveer. However, the gang had shot dead a guard.SSP Vaibhav Krishna said both the robberies were caught on CCTV cameras. Jasmat belongs to the same Rudaval village in Bharatpur where Samay hails from.

NOIDA: Two sensational bank robberies that shook Gonda and Pratapgarh districts two years ago have been cracked with the arrest of a father and son, members of a Bawariya gang, in a shootout in Greater Noida on Friday, police said.According to police, Samay Singh alias Ashok alias Sibbo (45) and his son Deepak (22), who belong to Bharatpur in Rajasthan , were arrested after a shootout in the green belt area at Dadha Road opposite Rajnigandha factory in Greater Noida late on Friday. The two later confessed to police that it was their gang that planned and executed the murderous assault on bank staff in Gonda and Pratapgarh district two years ago.On October 10, 2017, armed robbers attacked a team of Allahabad Bank officials transporting cash from its Rani Bazaar branch to its chest in Gonda. The robbers shot dead a security guard, Sadik Ali, and took away Rs 50 lakh.The robbery was executed by a gang of five—Samay, Bijua alias Vijay Singh, his nephew Suraj alias Karua alias Rajendra, Raju and Satveer. Bijua and Suraj belong to Aligarh but stay in Pataudi area in Gurgaon. Raju is from Hasanpur in Palwal, Haryana and Satveer belongs to Alwar.While Satveer was arrested by Lucknow police in November last year, he reportedly gave three different names —Sundar, Sonu and Anup—as those allegedly involved in Gonda robbery.However, Samay has now told police that Satveer had shared wrong information with police. According to police, Samay has claimed that while he and Bijua had fired in the air, he had also pulled the clasp of the cash box. “Samay has said that it was he and the four others—Bijua, Suraj, Raju and Satveer—who were involved in the robbery,” SHO, Ecotech I, Farmood Ali Pundhir said.Additional DGP (crime) had announced a reward of Rs 2.5 lakh for arrests in the case while the Allahabad bank had also promised Rs 2.5 lakh for information. The accused had stayed in different districts in western UP after committing the crime.In the second case, the same gang failed to loot money from a cash van of Pariayawa branch of SBI in Pratapgarh district on April 19, 2017. However, the gang had shot dead a guard.SSP Vaibhav Krishna said both the robberies were caught on CCTV cameras.
