Man held for strangling live-in partner to death

“The accused and the deceased worked in a private company in Noida’s Sector 85, and were in a live-in relationship for past eight months. GHAZIABAD: A 24-year-old man was arrested from Labour Chowk on Monday for allegedly killing his 21-year-old live-in partner, whose body was found from their house in Khoda on January 6.The accused has been identified as Shyam Manohar from Hardoi. Shyam strangled her to death with her red dupatta that was found around her neck,” he added.Shyam was arrested after police was tipped-off about his movement. “He was arrested at 10am on Mondya from Labour chowk,” he added.The police was informed about Akanksha death on January 6 by the owner of house she was living in. They lived in Deepak Vihar area Khoda,” said SP Shlok Kumar.Shyam was a supervisor in the private firm and Akanksha had joined the same company in April 2017.

Police said the accused was already married and had a three-year-old son. The SP told TOI that Akanksha’s elder sister died on December 28, 2018 following which her husband started talking a lot with Akanksha.“Seeing this, Shyam doubted Akanksha and thought that her family would marry her off with the elder sister’s husband. Shyam strangled her to death with her red dupatta that was found around her neck,” he added.Shyam was arrested after police was tipped-off about his movement. “He was arrested at 10am on Mondya from Labour chowk,” he added.The police was informed about Akanksha death on January 6 by the owner of house she was living in.
