GREATER NOIDA: A 15-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly killing his father in Astauli village of Dankaur on Sunday night.Police said the deceased, Vijay Bhati (45), had thrown his son out of the house six months ago after thrashing him. Later on Sunday night, the accused took revenge by attacking his father multiple times with an aluminium cap of a milk can, which led to his death.Vijay was a farmer and was also involved in animal husbandry. He used to live with his four children, including the accused, in Astauli village while his wife had been living separately at her parents’ house due to his alleged drinking problem. Police said Vijay’s eldest daughter had been married to one Kamal from the same village.The police said that around 9.30pm, Vijay was intercepted by his son outside his house when the former was in a drunk state.“We received information about the murder at 9.40pm after a call was made at the Dial 100 police helpline by one of the neighbours of the deceased. The informer told us that the father and son had an altercation and in a fit of rage, the Class X student picked up an aluminium cap of a milk can and started hitting on his father’s head. He collapsed on the ground and died later in the hospital,” said Farmood Ali Pundhir, the SHO of Dankaur police station.Vijay was rushed to Kailash hospital in Kasna where he was admitted to the ICU. Around 11.45pm, he succumbed to his injuries.The deceased’s son-in-law Kamal said, “The accused attacked his father because he had started thinking of himself as a grown-up man. The two had a similar altercation six months ago when he had attacked his father for the first time. But the deceased had overpowered him and had thrown him out of his house. However, a few days back he accepted him back, but his son had kept a grudge against him.”The SHO told TOI that the accused was sent to observation home. “The accused was booked under IPC Section 302 (murder). He was sent to observation home after being produced in front of the Child Welfare Committee on Monday,” Pundhir added.
