BSP to contest Noida Lok Sabha seat, yet to pick candidate

The Opposition parties, which were arch rivals once, had last month formed a coalition to fight against the ruling BJP in the Lok Sabha polls. “All SP workers have been asked to get into the electoral battle mode and reach out to people. NOIDA: The Bahujan Samaj Party BSP ) will contest the Noida Lok Sabha seat against the BJP in the general election this year and will be supported by the Samajwadi Party (SP).The decision was taken at a meeting of the SP that was held in Morna village in Sector 35 on Saturday. “We have urged all party workers to begin work at strengthening the booth levels across the district. Every booth of the Noida Assembly seat is being strengthened to ensure the victory of the alliance,” said Devender Gujjar of the SP.Yadav urged party workers to go door-to-door and raise awareness.

Both the SP and BSP will contest 38 seats each as part of the seat-sharing agreement.While the name of the BSP candidate for Noida is yet to be announced, SP urged all its party cadres on Saturday to strengthen booth-level work as well as embark on awareness drives across the district.“We have been told that the Noida Lok Sabha seat will be given to the BSP in keeping with the seat-sharing decision of the SP-BSP coalition formed last month. We have unanimously decided to support the decision and ensure the victory of the BSP candidate from Noida,” said Bir Singh Yadav, the SP district president who led the meeting on Saturday.The SP president also instructed party workers to expand their reach to the remotest corners of the district. “We have urged all party workers to begin work at strengthening the booth levels across the district. Every booth of the Noida Assembly seat is being strengthened to ensure the victory of the alliance,” said Devender Gujjar of the SP.Yadav urged party workers to go door-to-door and raise awareness. “All SP workers have been asked to get into the electoral battle mode and reach out to people. We will apprise each family of the fake declarations and false promises made by the BJP,” said Yadav.
