GREATER NOIDA: The MLA of Jewar has demanded that all colleges in Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr and Gautam Budh Nagar (GBU) be affiliated with Gautam Buddha University in place of current Chaudhary Charan Singh University in Meerut. He spent the night at GBU. The chief minister has asked for a detailed report on the matter. For this, MLA Dhirendra Singh had submitted a petition to chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday and urged that GBU be upgraded for the said affiliation so that it becomes a major education centre of the district and neighbouring areas.Adityanath made a sudden visit to Greater Noida on Sunday night to oversee preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to inaugurate Petrotech 2019 on Monday. “If all the colleges of Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr and Gautam Budh Nagar get affiliated to Gautam Buddha University, its economic status will be strengthened and Chaudhary Charan Singh University in Meerut will not have to face the load of higher education from nearby districts as is prevalent currently,” said the MLA on Monday.Singh also urged the CM to facilitate promotion of Buddhist studies at GBU as well as to give accreditation of a medical college to Rajkiya Ayurvigyan Institute.
