Residents clean parks in Greater Noida

GREATER NOIDA: With tendering for horticulture related cleanliness work of parks in Greater Noida still underway and expected by March next month, residents of sector Beta 1 in Greater Noida undertook cleaning of three parks in block A and two parks of block B of the sector on Wednesday. They plan to clean the C block park on Thursday.“Charity begins at home – is the premise on which residents of sector Beta 1 launched a cleanliness drive across five parks of the sector today. Till then we will continue cleaning of parks in a similar manner,” said TP Mishra, assistant manager horticulture department GNIDA. For this, we have requested all residents to ensure maximum participation as workers from horticulture department of Greater Noida Authority (GNIDA) will also contribute towards the beautification of the parks,” said Harinder Bhati resident of sector Beta 1.According to Bhati, Greater Noida is one of the greenest cities in the country and it’s the responsibility of the citizens also to maintain its greenery. “Tendering for the parks is underway and is likely to be finalised by next month.

Similar drive will be carried out in the C block park of the sector on Thursday. For this, we have requested all residents to ensure maximum participation as workers from horticulture department of Greater Noida Authority (GNIDA) will also contribute towards the beautification of the parks,” said Harinder Bhati resident of sector Beta 1.According to Bhati, Greater Noida is one of the greenest cities in the country and it’s the responsibility of the citizens also to maintain its greenery. “These parks are used by us and our children, hence it’s our responsibility along with GNIDA to ensure that they are clean,” said Bhati.In Wednesday’s cleanliness drive residents under the banner of Active Citizens’ group picked up plastic, disposable tea/coffee cups, plates, wrappers of eatables as well as dry leaves etc. “Tendering for the parks is underway and is likely to be finalised by next month. Till then we will continue cleaning of parks in a similar manner,” said TP Mishra, assistant manager horticulture department GNIDA.
