NOIDA: At least a dozen cases of loot and snatching in Noida’s Phase 2 area have left commuters worried about travelling during night hours and the police looking for clues.In one of the attacks on Tuesday night, three assailants who were hiding behind bushes near a road abutting a cemetery in Sector 110 area targeted a 35-year-old man, who was travelling on his black Splendor (DL 5S W 7436) bike around 10.30pm.Rashpal Kumar, who works as a tailor in a private company in Phase II, said he was on his way home when the three men wielding bamboo sticks intercepted him and asked him to hand over his wallet and mobile phone.“I was not carrying a mobile phone. They demanded that I hand over my wallet to them. When I told them that I was not carrying one, they thrashed me with sticks. One of them fled with my motorbike. He pushed me to the ground, I fell down and fainted,” he said.Rashpal lay unattended on the road for several minutes before he could gather the strength to walk towards his home located in Salarpur area , which is about 1.5km from the spot where he was attacked.After reaching home, Rashpal and his family went to the nearest police outpost to file a complaint but was apparently told to come the next morning. The man has suffered injuries to the face and limbs.Umaid Singh, the public relation officer for the Gautam Budh Nagar SSP, said an FIR had been lodged in the case under Section 392 (robbery) of the IPC and the police have initiated investigation.On Wednesday afternoon, a man was robbed of his mobile phone and some cash in NSEZ area. The victim was walking towards his office when he was intercepted by two assailants and attacked.
