Special camp for voter registration on February 23 and 24

"I appeal to all residents and new voters of the district to avail the opportunity of voter registration camp to be held on February 23 and 24," said BN Singh, district magistrate Gautam Budh Nagar.Gautam Budh Nagar administration had conducted voters’ enrolment drive from September to November. The application process was online at National Voter Service Porta (www.nvsp.in) and offline as well. A total of 1.44 lakh applications were accepted, 4116 forms rejected due to incomplete applications and 4593 forms were not processed properly. NOIDA: A special camp for voter registration will be held on February 23 and 24 across all polling booths in the district Guatam Budh Nagar where block level officers (BLOs) will assist in new voter registration and other correction related matters.The camp is being held by district election office on the directive of the Election Commission of India to facilitate all those who are yet to register themselves for voter list and having attained the age of 18 years on January 1, 2019 as well as those who need correction. The administration had made elaborate awareness programme among newly shifted residents, students and migrant workers.

So far (from Sept 1, 2018 to Jan 31, 2019) about 1.37 lakh new voters have been registered for district Gautam Budh Nagar (across all three constituencies of Noida, Jewar and Dadri) out of which, first time voters (of 18 years) is over 13,000."We have received 1.37 lakh new voters for Gautam Budh Nagar where a little over 13,000 will be first time voters having attained the age of 18 years on January 1, 2019," said Rakesh Kumar Sharma, assistant district election officer (ADEO)."Those whose age is 18-years-old on January 1, 2019, and their names have not yet been registered in the voters list, they can fill form number 6 and submit it to their local BLOs at these camps,” said Sharma.The voter camps to be held over the weekend is the last effort by the district election office to ensure those pending registration avail the opportunity.
