Greater Noida: A 35-year-old man was booked for allegedly strangling his 21-year-old wife to death at Ansal Golf Links in Kasna on Thursday morning. The woman’s family alleged that her husband had an extramarital affair and in-laws tortured her for dowry. They also named four other relatives of her husband in the complaint. They have been booked as well.Family members of the woman , Radha Yadav, told police they received a call around 1 am on Thursday from her husband’s uncle, informing them Radha was injured and had been admitted to Kailash hospital. “I reached the hospital at 1.40 am and found my sister’s body lying unattended in the hospital with injury marks on her neck. I immediately informed the police and filed a complaint against her husband and his family members as I knew she had been subjected to cruelty by them,” said Radha’s brother Shiv Kumar.Radha was married to Narendra on May 4, 2018. He worked as a supervisor in a Noida-based construction company. His family allegedly used to beat her up and asked her family for Rs 1 lakh dowry.“As we were not able to fulfil their demands, Narendra’s family members had thrown Radha out of their house just a few months after the marriage. The matter was sorted only after Narendra’s uncle intervened and helped him in shifting to Kasna. However, the domestic violence did not stop,” said Shiv.Shiv further said around 15 days before her death, Radha told her elder sister about her husband’s extramarital affair with another woman. “Narendra used to beat Radha daily and she had also found out about his extramarital affair. When we tried talking to him a few days ago, he threatened us by saying that he knew a lot of people from the ruling party so no one could touch him and later he killed my sister,” added Shiv.The injury marks on Radha’s neck indicate she was strangled to death, said police.“Narendra is on the run. Efforts are being made for his arrest. Meanwhile, six people have been booked, including Narendra, his parents, sister, grandfather and alleged partner under IPC sections 498-A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty), 304-B (dowry death), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act,” said Ajay Kumar, SHO of Kasna police station.
