Greater Noida: A 20-year-old man died and two of his friends were injured after a Baleno car they were travelling in hit another car driven by their friends and fell into a pond near Naveen Mandi area of Dadri early on Thursday.The deceased has been identified as Shadab, a resident of Mugalsaray area of Delhi where he lived with his family. He was pursuing his graduation.Police said Shadab had come to Nai Abadi village in Dadri to attend his elder brother’s wedding. He and six of his friends, who were travelling back to Delhi, were in two cars when the accident happened.Haji Hanif, the bride’s father, said, “After the wedding, the groom’s family and friends had gone back to Delhi. We later received information about Shadab’s accident.”Around 1 am, the two cars collided with each other and Shadab lost control of the vehicle he was driving and it and fell off the road into a pond. “Prima facie, seven people were travelling in the two cars that collided with each other due to which one fell into the pond,” said Neeraj Malik, the SHO of Dadri police station.The four who were travelling in an i20 car tried to rescue their friends in the Baleno. But they could not locate Shadab, as he had drowned in the pond.“One of the deceased’s friends informed us about the the accident and soon, a police team reached the spot. Shadab and two of his friends were rushed to Navin hospital in Dadri where Shadab was declared dead. Two others were discharged after first-aid,” the SHO added.Since no one has filed any police complaint in the case, no FIR has been registered as yet.
