Greater Noida: A 40-year-old guard at a residential society in Bisrakh area was allegedly assaulted by a group of bike-borne men on Sunday night. A visitor to the society, who allegedly had an altercation with the guard and later sent a few men to thrash him, has been booked.The incident occurred around 8pm on Sunday when three-four men on bikes attacked the guard, Bhikari (40), with sticks. The guard has been deployed at Eros Sampoornam housing society for the past two years.“We received information about the attack around 9pm from the hospital where the guard was taken after being attacked. He is stable now. On the basis of a complaint given by the head of security at the society, we have booked a man named Sonu, a resident of Bisnoli village. We have booked him under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code,” said Manoj Pathak, the SHO of Bisrakh police station.Prashant Kumar, the head of security, said Bhikari was just doing his duty. “Around 6 or 6.30pm on Sunday, Sonu had come to the society, along with a woman, in a Scorpio. At the gate, he told the guard that his sister lives in the society and he was asked to wait until it was confirmed. As the guard was talking on the intercom, Sonu threatened him with dire consequences for keeping him waiting,” he said.Kumar added that while leaving the housing society, Sonu parked his car outside. Within minutes, a group of men came in two bikes and attacked the guard with his chair and sticks.“After almost one hour, the main accused exited the housing society in his car. He parked the car outside the gate. Within a few minutes, three-four men came on bikes and attacked the guard with his chair and sticks. The guard collapsed after the attack and the men fled,” Kumar said.Police said efforts were on to arrest the accused, Sonu, and his accomplices. “We are currently questioning his relatives to know his whereabouts. He will be nabbed soon,” Pathak said.
