Noida: The Star One team of Noida police has arrested four youths allegedly involved in several cases of loot and armed robbery in Noida and Delhi. In their latest strike, about a month ago, they stole iron plates and circuit panels from the then under-construction Sector 62 metro station premises, said police.The accused had also stolen a white Xcent car, that ran as an Ola cab, from Delhi few months ago, and had been driving it with a fake number plate (DL1ZA7418) to commit the crime.The accused, Mohit Awana, Ajay Baisla, Akash Yadav and Pankaj – all in their late twenties — were arrested around 8.40pm on Tuesday from near the Parthala roundabout in Phase III area. Two pistols, two 32 bore live cartridges, two 315 bore live cartridges, and 32 iron shuttering pipes have been recovered from their possession.“Around one month back, they stole circuit panels and iron plates from the Sector 62 metro station after which, Pankaj helped sell the material to a scrap dealer in Delhi’s Mayapuri. The car recovered from the accused was being driven with a fake number plate. It has been registered with Ola and was apparently stolen from a cabbie in Delhi about three-four months ago. Ola officials have been informed,” said sub-inspector D K Sharma. An FIR has been lodged against the accused at Phase III police station on Tuesday.
