Illegal weapons factory busted in forest, 2 held

We also recovered illegal and semi-prepared arms from their possession. They told us that the pistols were priced between Rs 5,000 and Rs 15,000 while the price of some guns is around Rs 25,000,” Sharma added.The police said that most of the illegal weapons were prepared with the help of rods from trucks which connect steering to the wheels. The police have also seized the unfinished material and the equipment used for making such weapons,” said Rajkumar Sharma, the SHO of Kavi Nagar police station.“The accused confessed that they were manufacturing illegal weapons that were to be supplied during the elections and had been selling them in Hapur, Dhaulana, Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad areas, near Masuri.

Those rods were later patched up with wood and other materials to convert into a gun.The police also recovered a small furnace during the raid which was allegedly used by the accused for melting iron and equipment such as drilling machine, hammer and screwdrivers.The gang had made a .315 bore pistol, two country-made weapons and were using four cartridges to test the manufactured weapons. Mursalim is a history-sheeter and over 14 cases of loot and under the Arms Act have been registered against him in various police stations of Ghaziabad.The police said they have already intensified their drive to track anti-social elements such as alcohol smugglers and those manufacturing illegal arms ahead of the Lok Sabha polls scheduled for April 11 in Ghaziabad.
