Noida: There has been a minimal effect of Bharat Bandh called by certain farmers associations in Noida. All major markets remained open and traffic remained smooth on the road. Heavy police deployment of police and paramilitary forces was spotted across the city and especially at the borders near DND flyway and other adjoining districts.

"We are not against the farmers` protest, they are free to do whatever they want but not on the cost of affecting the common man. We know that the entire movement of Kisan Andolan has been politicised and we are not supporting any political movement," said CB Jha, president, market association, Atta Market Association, Noida. Police had imposed section 144 in the district and no gatherings were allowed. Farmers from Bhartiya Kisan Union continued to block the Noida link road near Mayur Vihar in Delhi, however, all the other roads connecting Delhi remained functional.

"We have floated the helpline number for any traffic-related problem. Traffic on the DND is smooth," said a spokesperson of the police.
