Noida: Following the UP government’s orders, the Gautam Budh Nagar administration said it will release a set of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Holi celebration and the upcoming panchayat elections. The state government has instructed that all schools will remain closed from March 24 to 31. Other educational institutions will also be closed from March 25 to 31.

“We are involving all departments again and forming teams to ensure that rules are followed. This is being done to prevent the infection from spreading. All establishments will be given an email ID wherein they will have to send a self-declaration of compliance to the SOPs,” said Suhas LY, the district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar. The officials concerned will ensure that none of the workplaces like industries, offices, malls and factories call symptomatic people to work.

All establishments will also be asked to activate a Covid-19 helpdesk for its employees. The DM said detailed SOPs will also be issued by Wednesday for residents regarding the Holi celebrations. The government has ordered that residents will have to seek permission from the district administration for community Holi celebrations. Also, nobody over 60 years of age and under 10 years will be allowed to attend these festivities.

The Ghaziabad administration has also rolled out similar SOPs, which includes mandatory testing for those coming to the district from states with higher cases. “We have deputed ADMs from whom a prior permission will be required before organising any public functions,” said Ajay Shankar Pandey, the DM. “Also, classes till standard 8th will remain suspended till March 31 while there will be a special emphasis on contact tracing,” added Pandey.
