Lowest 1-day Covid cases in May: Noida sees 377, Ghaziabad 273

Noida, Ghaziabad: Both districts saw their lowest single-day tally of fresh Covid cases this month on Sunday. While 377 cases were detected in Noida, Ghaziabad recorded 273. Gautam Budh Nagar district also recorded its lowest single-day death toll on Sunday at four. So far, 59,485 cases have been recorded in Gautam Budh Nagar and the total number of people discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours is 812, which is more than double the number of new cases in that duration.

Noida, Ghaziabad: Both districts saw their lowest single-day tally of fresh Covid cases this month on Sunday. While 377 cases were detected in Noida, Ghaziabad recorded 273. Gautam Budh Nagar district also recorded its lowest single-day death toll on Sunday at four. So far, 59,485 cases have been recorded in Gautam Budh Nagar and the total number of people discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours is 812, which is more than double the number of new cases in that duration.

While the number of deaths between March 2020 and March 2021 was 91, between April 1 and May 16 this year, the district has recorded 294 deaths. The tally stands at 385, according to official records. There are 6,412 active cases in the district . There were no ICU beds available till last week, over 50 such beds were available on Sunday evening.

Ghaziabad recorded seven deaths on Sunday, taking the toll to 375. The number of Covid cases stands at 51,517. As many as 790 patients were discharged from hospitals and released from home isolation in the past 24 hours. Altogether, 46,560 patients have recovered. There are 4,320 active cases in Ghaziabad and the recovery rate stands at 91%. No vaccination drive was conducted in Noida and Ghaziabad on Sunday.

Drive-through sites

Drive-through sites at DLF Mall of India, Noida, and Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium, Greater Noida, will be open from Monday. The sites are for those over 45 years seeking their first dose. Officials said 100 slots were opened for each site around 7.30 pm on Sunday and all have been booked. People can get the jabs shots and wait for 30 minutes.
