On Friday a budget of Rs 4,500 crore for the financial year 2021-22 was approved by the Noida authority which is less than last year’s allocation of Rs 5,278 crore.

While Rs 1,084 crore will be given as Noida’s share for the upcoming Jewar airport, projects like the heliport in Sector 151, New Noida and a world-class data centre were also approved at the Authority’s 202nd board meeting.

“We have cleared the budget of Rs 4,500 crore for the current financial year. We have set aside Rs 1,084 crore as our share for the Jewar airport project. This expenditure will be done as and when required,” said Ritu Maheshwari, CEO of the Noida Authority.

In fact, the Jewar airport project is borne with 37.5% shareholding of all three authorities — YEIDA, GNIDA and the Noida Authority. In this context, the Noida Authority has so far released Rs 1,650 crore.

While a 20% increase in land rates of industrial and institutional areas in Phase II was proposed, the board also recommended that the IT and ITES plot rates in the institutional area of Phase III be brought on par with those in the industrial areas of the phase.

The board also decided to implement land pooling policy to promote industrial development in the state.

Under the policy approved in September 2020, the state government aims to make land owners a participant in the process of development.

Moreover, as against the provision of cancelling residential plot allotment for non-execution of lease documents post three years of the said allotment, a final reprieve has been given by the board to all such allottees till July 27, 2021. Post that, their allotment will be cancelled.

The Noida board further approved the hiring of consultant Rites Ltd to prepare the detailed project report of the proposed heliport in Sector 151A. This will be sent to the state government for approval.

The said heliport is proposed with an aim to increase connectivity with not only the states of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana, but also with Delhi’s IGI airport and the upcoming airport in Jewar.

The board also gave its nod to the hiring of the School of Planning and Architecture in Delhi as a consultant to prepare a master plan for New Noida, a project that would come up across 80 villages between Dadri and Khurja in Bulandshahr in the Delhi-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region.

“For this, the board approved the appointment of the consultant for preparing the detailed project report,” said Maheshwari.
The Authority was also given the go-ahead to adopt the Uttar Pradesh Data Centre Policy 2021 in Noida.

The said policy was proposed by the government in January this year for building a world class data centre so as to attract global and Indian investors.

Further, the board approved two compressed biogas plants for Noida to deal with its wet waste issues. “With a view to increase its wet waste processing capacity and utilise the source of energy and green fuel from waste disposal, two compressed biogas plants of 200 MT per day capacity are to be set up with funding from the Union ministry of petroleum and natural gas for a period of 15 years,” an official said.

The Noida board also approved 4.5 floor area ratio (FAR) of select metro stations and allowed the use of metro footprint area for commercial activity. Post objections and suggestions invited on the move, the same will be sent to the state government for approval.

The renaming of the shooting range at Noida stadium in Sector 21A was also approved by the board. The shooting range will henceforth be named as Chandro Tomar Shooting Range Noida after acclaimed national champion. The move comes following chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s approval earlier this week.
